There is strong evidence to suggest that those who fall out of learning opportunities provision will be vulnerable to drug abuse, crime, mental health problems and homelessness in later life and will therefore be at significant risk of social and economic exclusion and unemployment. Furthermore, those who miss school by being excluded or opting out are more likely to be out of work at the age of 19, and more likely to fall into a spiral of social and economic exclusion, crime, poverty, long-term unemployment, drug abuse etc.
7KS work from the premise that all young people have the potential to succeed given the right opportunities. The key to success is to provide:
a fresh start empathetic supportive staff a structured vocational and activity focussed environment, which can develop a sense of belonging experience of personal success empowerment: taking increasing responsibility for activities, learning, self and others personal development, including priority and other social skills, and purpose towards employment.
At 7KS we offer a Prime Contractor role to organisations working with young people who will benefit from a non formal learning approach, work and activity related learning, and lead to an inclusive learning community.
